Happy 200 Day!

Woo Hoo!!

Yaaaaaay!!

and

HOOOOORAAAAAAAH!!

This marks 200 posts for Long Distance Lobsters. I'm pretty happily surprised we've made it this far. And we really would not have made it if all you Lobsters out there hadn't been so engaged and encouraging. SO - this is for you, Loyal Lobsters!

Are you proud to be a Lobster? Are you wishing you never had to miss a post? You can like us on facebook, or subscribe to us on Google Reader or your Blog reader of choice, or really earn some Lobster points with us and tell your friends they should follow us too! Spread the Lobster love!

Honestly, Emily and I really do have to thank you for blessing us with your readership. We are celebrating ten years or friendship between us, which is shweet. And to get to this stage of our friendship and get to share ourselves with all of you makes for a beautiful season of community. Not only do we have the accountability to keep each other updated on what's going on in our lives and minds, but we've also seen an influx of getting to hear from long-distance friends, who, without following the blog, would have had have less excuse to contact us. So thanks for helping our community strengthen and flourish.

It leaves me curious. Is this entirely a selfish endeavor? I think there is important value in our putting energy into our relationships - it helps us personally, it helps us be better spouses, better parents. So that's all well and good. But have any of you benefited at all from joining us in this journey? Have any of you reached out to a friend you hadn't been in touch with for a while? Have you gotten ideas for how to stay better connected with friends far away? Have any of you felt more connected to Emily or I as a result of the silliness we post up here each day? I would be so encouraged to know that we weren't the only two reaping the rewards of this project. So let us know, on this Two-Hundredth-Post-Day, what is it like, being a Lobster? How could we better support you in your long-distance friendships?
