Movie Review Monday #7: Fourth of July Edition

So I was going to write the top ten movies that I associate with the Fourth of July, but I could seriously only think of three, and one doesn't really even count:

1. Independence Day: This is because of the title of the film. For some reason, this film puts me to sleep. I almost never fall asleep in movies, and I have slept through this one twice. So weird.
2. Men In Black: This is both because it came out a Fourth of July weekend and because it stars Will Smith, who was also in Independence Day. I love Men in Black. It's witty and original and exciting and the squirmy pug alien makes me giggle.
3. The Sandlot: Just for the scene where they're playing baseball with fireworks exploding in the night while Ray Charles croons "America the Beautiful" in the background. It makes me all nostalgic for my boyhood in the 60s, which is impressive since I am female born in the 80s.

Hopefully you people are out grilling some cow meat, drinking something cold and refreshing, and lighting things on fire instead of coming here looking for quality blogging.

In conclusion...a picture from one of my best Fourths ever.
